The Easter Family Feast was loaded with the things that got me into the shape I was at the start of the Lighten Up program. It would be easy to eat Easter Bread, cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, and lots and  lots of home chocolate candies. I'll admit that I wasn't a saint, but when I jumped off the wagon it was only for a few items. And the truth be known they really didn't taste half as good as they looked. When I hit the bed that night it was the last of the goodies for a long while. The glass of water really tasted better than even the diet pop.
I'm two days back on the wagon. I feel really good. The last two days walking were pleasant. I know that the weigh-in is in 4 days now. It will be easier to stay on the program because unfortunately the scale is an unmerciful master. I am hoping that all the rest of the people I have been seeing will make the cut. See you all on Saturday.

It was a bad day yesterday for the exercise. I was only able to get about 3/4 mile before the rains came. But today was a much better day. With the snow on the grass and the trees it made every step a reward in great views and clear brisk air. I was able to walk 4 miles today in good time and get some great pictures on the cell phone to match. If you get a chance today get out of the house or gym and get some cool fresh air as well as experience the great outdoors.
The walk combined with the e-mail from Cori gave me a boost in the program. I had reached a plateau on the scale and I will take her words to heart. Only 12 days left till the April weigh-in. Hope everyone gets a chance to read Cori's e-mail.

My wife and I usually go to the Aladdin's Lighten Up Mondays in Mentor. We have met some great people there who have shared their weight loss successes and failures to maintain over their lives. Everyone seems anxious to make the Lighten Up in 2014 their last diet. They want to get to a life style that is healthy and requires watching to make sure they stay on a sensible way of eating for the rest of their lives.

Well the weigh-in is over. Congrats to all who were successful in losing weight. Any amount is a step in the right direction. Frank you're half way to the 5% keep on keepin' on and you can do it. Cathy M congratulations on your success. You, Jane D and Denise A are setting the bar for the rest of us to shoot for and to stay on the marathon.
